International design, engineering, and advisory company Aurecon has recorded a 63 per cent revenue increase in environmental services since 2023, leading to a 43-place ascension on the Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) Top 200 Environmental Firms lists over the past two years.

The ENR 2024 Top 200 Environmental Firms rank companies based on the gross revenue of their environmental services in 2023. Aurecon ranked 56th for this year.

William Cox, Chief Executive Officer at Aurecon, said, “Our revenue from environmental services continues to rapidly rise as projects are increasingly required to address climate change and energy transition urgency.

“Aurecon continues to be recognised globally for being at the forefront of the energy transition, delivering some of Asia-Pacific’s first and largest renewable energy infrastructure projects, limiting climate change and decarbonising economies.

“With more than half of the world’s power to be generated in Asia-Pacific over the next 10 years, Aurecon forecasts continued growth and market share for its climate change, sustainability, environment, water, community engagement, energy transition, and decarbonisation sector services.”

Staying competitive in Asia-Pacific

Aurecon has acquired a number of companies in the past few years that reinforce the company’s commitment to expanding its environmental, and sustainability and climate change capabilities, to address the needs of clients.

In 2023, Aurecon acquired Singapore Environmental Consultancy and Solutions (SECS), in support of the company’s strategic commitment to growing in Asia’s environmental and sustainability sector.

The ENR Top 200 Environmental Firms is the second industry sustainability list Aurecon has ranked in this year. Earlier, Aurecon was named AFR Sustainability Leader for a third year in a row.

In 2023, Aurecon accelerated the delivery of one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects by leveraging a digital platform revolutionising the future of environmental reporting, Aurecon air®.

Recently, the AFRY Aurecon joint venture was chosen to deliver the design through to construction of the long duration renewable energy storage asset, Borumba Pumped Hydro, located in Queensland, Australia.
