  • Australia becomes the launchpad for a cutting-edge POS technology by Nayax Ltd. (Nasdaq: NYAX; TASE: NYAX)
  • VPOS Media 4 combines payment processing, operational efficiency, and customer interaction into one device
  • A breakthrough rental model lets any business get VPOS devices that increase revenue for under $1AUD/day with no upfront costs

Australia’s EV industry will be the first to experience next-generation point of sale (POS) technology to modernise the self-service experience for EV owners.

Australia, 24 July 2025: Australia’s EV industry will be the first to experience next-generation point of sale (POS) technology to modernise the self-service experience for EV owners. Pioneered by global fintech company Nayax, VPOS Media 4 combines secure payment processing, operational efficiency, and engaging customer interaction capabilities, all in one intelligent device.

In addition, Nayax also unveiled in the Australian market a breakthrough rental model to provide businesses access to VPOS devices, along with full software and support, for less than $1 AUD per day. By shifting the costs for machine operators from CAPEX to OpEx, this flexible offering allows businesses to scale operations and avoid any upfront costs to modernise cashless acceptance and scale their revenue. The model includes full hardware, software, and support bundled into a predictable monthly fee.

“VPOS Media 4 addresses a significant opportunity for EV charging businesses – the untapped potential for customer engagement and advanced operational insights. This technology isn’t just about processing payments; it’s about transforming the entire consumer experience,” said Dylan Winik, CEO of Australia, Indonesia and New Zealand at Nayax.

“We’re giving forward-thinking operators the tools to turn every transaction into a strategic opportunity – building customer relationships, gathering insights, and maximising revenue potential. It’s essentially your number one employee who speaks fluent customer, providing upselling opportunities, building loyalty, and delivering the kind of experience that keeps customers coming back.”

“With our industry-first rental model, these advanced capabilities are accessible to businesses of all sizes, without the financial burden of hardware ownership, allowing them to scale faster, drive meaningful growth and efficiency gains.”

The announcement comes as Australia prepares for new cash acceptance legislation, with the Federal Government announcing that businesses selling essential goods and services will be required to accept cash payments from January 1, 2026, and adhere to the regulation of PCI PTS. Winik emphasised that Nayax’s approach focuses on expanding payment options rather than replacing cash entirely.

“Our position has always been to give businesses and consumers more choice in how they transact,” he said. “We believe in frictionless commerce that delivers operational and revenue uplift for businesses. Our technology is designed to complement existing payment infrastructure, allowing operators to serve customers through multiple channels while maximising convenience and efficiency.”

The VPOS Media 4 is an Android-based POS designed for plug-and-play installation, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and allowing existing operators to migrate from previous devices without drilling new holes or learning new software. The device’s versatility extends across multiple industries, with purpose-built compatibility for MDB, Pulse, and Nayax’s proprietary Marshall protocols.

Built to withstand Australia’s varying weather conditions, VPOS Media 4 features an IP55 durability rating, a vibrant 4-inch colour touchscreen, anti-vandal sensors, wide temperature range capability, and 4G Global connectivity. The platform also allows for over-the-air software updates, branded customer flows, branding opportunities, and dynamic content delivery, ensuring businesses can stay current with evolving customer expectations.
