Made only in exceptional years. this has aged for 14 years and was drinking fresh as a daisy, still rather young and beautiful..

On the nose a hint of smoke? With faint hints of spicy apricots and almonds.

In the mouth the wine is fine almost silky in its delivery. As feather weight salty minerals packed with a long chalky dry finish washed through the palate.

In Champagne the 2008 vintage was the coldest year for a decade. Producing a well-balanced vintage. although a bit linear at this stage the wine is built for ageing, with a long and exciting future ahead of it as the importer was quick to point out. It will develop over time, to become a classic, refined and a very exciting Champagne.

There are few unexpected surprises in life these days. (this was one of them)

 How can I rate perfection?
