Altona North home peppered with bullets after multiple shots were fired at Mills Street house while residents were inside.
A street in Melbourne’s north has been rocked by a brazen shooting, with police rushing to the scene after multiple shots were fired at a home with the residents inside.
Shots have been blasted through a home in Melbourne’s west, with police desperately trying to track down witnesses and footage as they investigate the incident.
A gunman opened fire on an Altona North property in the early hours of Wednesday while the residents were inside the house.
The front door of the residence at 146 Mills Street was peppered with bullets, with multiple shots fired at the house.
Police rushed to the scene after being alerted to gunshots in the vicinity of the street.
The individuals who were inside the property at the time escaped without injury.
“A crime scene has been established and the investigation remains ongoing,” police said.
No details have emerged about the perpetrator, with Hobsons Bay Crime Investigation Unit detectives investigating. It was noted that detectives from Taskforce Lunar also attended the scene today to assist. This is consistent with reports on social media that the intended target was known identity, Ahmed El Kurdi.
Multiple police cars remained at the scene into the late morning, with police tape blocking off the single-storey home.
The bullet holes in the home have been highlighted with adhesive crime scene tape markers.
A work vehicle belonging to Darling Builders was seen parked in the driveway of the home today.
