  • Who Gives A Crap announces the release of garbage, compost and dog poo bags, offering another way to brighten up people’s homes.
  • Expanding its product offering to increase its impact, Who Gives A Crap is on a mission to give everyone in the world access to clean water and sanitation by donating 50% of its profits.
  • The new range will be available from the website on October 3, 2024.

Who Gives A Crap has launched a stylish new range, adding a variety of garbage and compostable bags to its household product repertoire.

The announcement comes following ongoing customer demand, with the release including 100% Recycled Garbage Bags and Dog Poo Bags, as well as 100% Compostable Food Scrap Bags. Each is designed for different purposes and end of life, keeping Mother Earth in mind, while getting one step closer to help end the global sanitation crisis.

Who Gives A Crap co-founder, Simon Griffiths is confident this new release is an important step in achieving the brand’s mission of giving everyone in the world access to clean water and sanitation:

“We donate 50% of our profits to help build toilets all over the world and for us to have the greatest impact, we need to grow our product range. And what better way than adding new fun essential products people use every day.”

Each of the bags are leak and tear-proof, and have tie handles, making taking out the trash not only foolproof but fun and stylish too. In true Who Gives A Crap style, the bags feature an array of unique designs, with bold colours and geometric shapes that will refresh even the most tired bins in every room of the house – the Dog Poo Bags even include illustrations of different pooches.

While the bag designs embody the Who Gives A Crap’s vivacious nature, they have been designed for a purpose. Over 400 million tonnes of plastics are produced each year, with just a small fraction recycled into new items. Who Gives A Crap thinks that’s crap, which is why it’s made rubbish bags from rubbish! The Garbage and Dog Poo Bags are made from 100% recycled plastic to help give trash a second life.

The Compostable Food Scrap Bags are crafted with plant matter to help minimise the impact on food systems and are 100% compostable. Being TUV Austria certified, these bags are both home and industrial compostable, breaking down within a year when composted at home, or within three months at an industrial composting facility.

Bernie Wiley, Sustainability Director at Who Gives A Crap describes how confusing rubbish can be for consumers who are trying to make considered choices:

“Rubbish disposal can be incredibly confusing and misleading. While people may have good intentions, most are unfortunately disposing of their rubbish wrong. While it is best to reduce, reuse and recycle where possible, unfortunately, some rubbish is likely to end up in landfill. From a sourcing and production perspective, recycled plastic that ends up in landfill has the least impact on the environment.

“That’s why it’s our role to help educate our customers on the best possible option for their household essentials. We’ve tried to simplify taking out the trash, with one bag for each purpose and end of life.”

Who Gives A Crap’s garbage bag range will be available to purchase via its website from October 3, 2024.
