The holiday beer. There is nothing quite like it. What that specific beer is, honestly doesn’t matter, and I’m not going to pretend it does either. It’s not what the holiday beer tastes like that raises it to a status above all other brews, it’s what it represents. This beer equates to long, hot days by the beach, going out for every meal, and having your biggest stress in life being whether to have the chicken or the fish.

However, as with any good holiday romance, it’s never quite the same when you get home and sip on the exact same beer you had by the beach or out for dinner. The magic has gone. It’s that intangible quality, be that the ocean view or the sand beneath your feet that always seems to be missing when you crack that same lager three weeks later on your sofa with rain lashing at the windows.

Now for the objective part of the review, free from my misty eyed nostalgia. Yulli’s have created a no frills, no nonsense lager that is ridiculously refreshing and does exactly what it says on the tin. This is a real workhorse of a beer. Perfect for a session in the sun, or to cut through a spicy dish such as Mexican or a curry. Although the Seabass is a straight up and down beer, thats nothing to sneer at. Due to its simplicity it’s very hard to nail a lager, it leaves you no where to hide, and Yulli’s have nailed it with this one.

With all that being said, I sincerely hope all of you have a holiday beer waiting for you somewhere in your immediate future.
