BLUESFEST UPDATE 21.04.2020

It is with great delight and appreciation for your patience and support that Bluesfest is finally in a position to provide 2020 ticket holders with a time frame regarding our Festival announcement for our 32nd Bluesfest, on Easter weekend April 1-5, 2021 and refunds for the cancelled 2020 event.

In the week commencing 15th June ticket holders will be contacted directly with information on your options for 2021, as well as the refund process.

Bluesfest will provide refunds to those who select that option, and the process for this will be outlined at that time.

At this time we will offer existing ticket holders an exclusive pre-sale offer to purchase Early Bird tickets for Bluesfest 2021 before they go on-sale to the general public on June 22nd.

Usually, Early Bird tickets are offered without the knowledge of an Artist line up. This year you have the knowledge that the 2021 line up is shaping up to be a pearler and this is your chance to secure those tickets at the lowest possible price, before we announce around 50 artists on June 22. You can choose to buy at the Early Bird rate, or wait until we announce.

Refunds will remain available for those who wish to wait to hear the line up.

Due to the overwhelming amount of support from ticket holders wishing to confirm their commitment for 2021, Bluesfest will go on sale with 1-Day tickets and 3-Day tickets as soon as we make our first Artist announcement. This ticketing offer will include all the ‘add-ons’ such as VIP, camping and parking so you can plan for next Easter.

This particular Artist announcement will be the earliest on record for Bluesfest. The aim is to provide you with a forecast so you can envision how amazing Bluesfest 2021 will be. A celebration of world-class music and a reunion of live entertainment lovers all combined in one big 5-Day long party, Easter Long weekend April 1 – 5, 2021.

We look forward to celebrating with you again!

BLUESFEST UPDATE 19.03.2020

FESTIVAL DIRECTOR PETER NOBLE OAM
DECLARES BLUESFEST 2021 IS ON!

“We will find a way to continue and present in 2021. I am a veteran; having been in this incredible industry since the 60s I have never experienced such a dire situation. As a premier event we need to present another Bluesfest not only for ourselves but also for the entire entertainment industry to see that there will be a brighter day and that as an industry we will come back from this.

WE ARE HUMBLED BY THE INCREDIBLE RESPONSE WE HAVE RECEIVED AND BY THE OUTPOURING OF LOVE FROM OUR TICKETHOLDERS, MUSIC INDUSTRY AND OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY.

We are in discussions with all the agents representing the artists who were due to play this Easter on what has been our greatest bill ever. Whilst we currently don’t know ‘who’ all our headliners will be in 2021 we have received feedback from over 30 artists on this years bill confirming they are ready to reschedule for 2021. Their level of support and goodwill is inspiring and I foresee a great event to come.

2021 will be the year for everyone that cares about the arts, music and the entire entertainment industry that we all love, to come out and show their support for everyone. We call on our industry, the musicians, the agents and the managers to get in touch with us and help us show the solidarity of strength that we have as a combined force. We are all in this together and together we will go on and get through these troubled times.

TIME IS A HEALER AND ONE DAY THIS WILL BE BEHIND US.

It has not been easy and we are still in what will be a lengthy process working out the details. Representatives from our insurance companies have advised that our claim is being processed and ticket refunds or the option to roll over to Bluesfest 2021 will be available soon. We will constantly keep you updated in this area and thank you all again for the patience you have shown.

In the meantime, we wish you all good health and to remain strong and positive in these very trying times.

SEE YOU AT BLUESFEST!

BLUESFEST UPDATE 17.03.2020

As we informed you yesterday, on Sunday the NSW Health Minister issued a Public Health (COVID-19 Public Events) Order 2020.
A copy of this Public Health Order is available here.

It is clear that events over 500 people are now banned. Consequently, 2020 Bluesfest cannot proceed.

Bluesfest has lodged their claim with their insurers and is working through the process. We will be in contact with all ticket holders as soon as possible and appreciate your understanding and your patience in this instance.

Please be aware that the current situation is unprecedented. We are currently working toward getting you more detailed information as soon as possible.

We promise to keep you updated.

Peter Noble OAM
Festival Director Bluesfest

BLUESFEST STATEMENT MONDAY 16.03.2020

To everyone involved with Bluesfest,

It is obvious we will not be on this Easter. We are heartbroken as we believe we were presenting one of the best ever bills of talent for you. I was in discussions right through last week with every headliner – they ALL said they’re coming as long as nothing occurred to prevent them from doing so. That is the level of commitment that our artists have, and I am proud of that.

I must now thank every one of you for supporting us. The emails and posts are deeply appreciated at this time.

We are now working through how to move forward and to give you details.

I thank you for allowing us enough time to get everything in place for the best possible outcome for everyone.

Peter Noble OAM
Festival Director Bluesfest

BLUESFEST STATEMENT SUNDAY 15.03.2020

Promoters and Producers through Live Performance Australia, the Live Entertainment Industry Group, have been in constant communication with both State and Federal government since Prime Minister Morrison stated Friday afternoon, his “advice”, that all non-essential sporting and entertainment events with audiences above 500 should cancel.

We have stated in the strongest manner that “advice” was NOT a direction, and we needed the certainty by directive, followed by legislation, as soon as possible, so our entire industry could move forward to act in a responsible manner toward ALL interested parties, the public, ticket buyers, the artists, Bluesfest employees, and all suppliers and contractors.

The government has now made a definitive statement, and have banned events, and require 14 days of self-isolation for everyone entering Australia. This is a matter that will greatly affect both our future at Bluesfest, as well as the entire Entertainment Industry.

Please stand by for further updates.

BLUESFEST STATEMENT FRIDAY 13.03.2020

Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, wants all non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people to be suspended from Monday amid fears about the spread of the COVID-19.

We are now awaiting the official requirement from Federal and State authorities on Monday and will update you at that time.

BLUESFEST STATEMENT TUESDAY 10.03.2020

We are all aware of COVID-19 in Australia and want to update you. Bluesfest Byron Bay will be going ahead as planned from 9 – 13 April 2020.

Both NSW Health and the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC), the federal body, report that attending public events such as Bluesfest are low risk. The report from the AHPPC on March 8 can be found on their website. Furthermore, on March 7, NSW Health issued their own report which too can be found on their website. We will keep you updated on any changes.

We want to assure you that we are currently implementing the recommended extra safety measures and additional facilities in order to consider the general health and safety of patrons, artists and staff at the event.

If you’ve already purchased a ticket for Bluesfest, your ticket purchase is fully insured in case of cancellation due to this pandemic.

Thank you for your continued support and looking forward to seeing you all here in Byron Bay this Easter!

BLUESFEST STATEMENT FRIDAY 06.03.2020

Bluesfest has always, and will always take the necessary actions to protect our patrons.

To that end, I wish to reassure you that we are in regular discussions with Live Performance Australia (LPA), the live entertainment industry representation group, of whom we are a member, and remain updated at all times regarding best practice for our coming festival, and government notifications.

All events of a public nature in Australia are proceeding in the Entertainment and Sporting areas, and we look forward to presenting our best Bluesfest yet.
It’s business as usual.

We are a fully insured event, and our customers are protected should anything change.
