When you donate your pet’s pre-loved coat to any participating Just For Pets independent retailer between 1st May – 30th June, they will give you $15 off a new Kazoo coat. Just For Pets will then ensure that your donated coat will go to a furry friend in need at the store’s chosen pet rescue centre.
“Winter coats are not just a fashion statement for your pet. For many dogs, they’re a necessity, especially for dogs that don’t have a warm, loving home,” says Karen Justice, CEO of Just For Pets, Australia’s largest group of independent pet stores and active supporters of animal rescue organisations.
“Like humans, most dogs feel the cold and will be happier and at ease when warm. Cats can also benefit from extra coverage.”
Not only does the Caring Coats campaign help your dog to stay warm during the colder months, but you’re also giving warmth to a shelter dog, too.
“Your dog is most likely to need protection from the winter chills if they are a puppy, old-aged, recovering from illness or injury, short-legged or light-bodied, a toy breed, or a breed with naturally groomed short or thin hair,” says Justice.
It’s essential to make sure the coat fits your dog comfortably and allows your dog to walk, run, and relieve themselves. A local Just For Pets store can make sure the right one is selected, and they also invite dog and cat owners to bring their pets in for a proper fitting.
