Father; Calvin Reeder and his son Brendon, were killed in their Donvale house as it went up in flames overnight.
At least 30 Fire Rescue Victoria firefighters arrived at 43 Craig Road, Donvale, to find the multi-level, brick and steel constructed home fully involved in fire.
FRV Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire. The home has been destroyed by fire and the roof has collapsed. The fire was deemed under control at 04:33am.
Upon extinguishing the fire, two bodies were found inside the property.
Shocked friends and neighbours of the pair gathered outside their home throughout the day as emergency services investigated.
Neighbour and former deputy youth premier of Victoria Angelo von Moller described Mr Reeder as the “epitome of a good neighbour”.
FRV specialist Fire Investigators will be attending this morning to investigate the cause of the fire with Victoria Police.
FRV Firefighters will be remaining on scene to continue fire duties into the morning.
When our chief crime reporter and lead photographer, Lord Murray Schoorman attended, these images show what little is left of the home.
