Hello,
I’m readying to go into our opening night performance of Fury and reflecting on the development of the production thus far.
Co-directing with Brett, following Incognito last year, has again been immensely rewarding. Our creative team and cast are not only brilliantly talented but driven to collectively find the ultimate life for our production and deliver it with care and bravery.
Joanna Murray-Smith is an extraordinary mind. Diving into the complex themes and characters of Fury, and the brilliant rhythms and wit Joanna employs so deftly, has been a career highlight for Brett and I. As parents of young children we’ve found great cause to reflect and dig deep – Fury exposes some of the scarier questions about parenting and there’s no getting off the hook. Confronting big questions and ideas is, for us, one of the keys to directing, and the purpose of theatre.
Last week preview performances consistently sold out with waiting lists each night, so if you haven’t booked, do, before the word spreads. Book your tickets here.
We can’t wait to share it with you.
See you at the theatre,

Joanna Murray-Smith talks FURY with
Time Out…
“To me, it’s fascinating to write characters who think they have everything all sewn up. The tragedy of their lives is that they begin, often later in life, to see that a lot of the qualities they saw in themselves were actually camouflage for what they couldn’t handle and what they didn’t see.”
