Frontier Touring are pumped to confirm that the Hoodoo Gurus upcoming 40th Anniversary Tour with special guests The Dandy Warhols commences next month!
“Postponements, cancellations, lockdowns – sometimes it seemed like this tour was never gonna happen. We’ve been “all dressed up with nowhere to go” for way too long but now it’s time to release all that pent up energy. Hoodoo Gurus! Dandy Warhols! We’re more than ready and rarin’ to go – so look out because this is gonna be epic!”
Kicking off at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre Theatre on Tuesday 5 April, the tour then proceeds to Sidney Myer Music Bowl Melbourne on Wednesday 6 April, down to Hobart Big Top^ (venue change, previously Hobart City Hall) on Saturday 9 April before two nights at Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion on Tuesday 12 & Wednesday 13 April and finally Brisbane’s Riverstage on Thursday 14 April. Due to current pending COVID-19 restrictions in WA, the scheduled Perth Belvoir Amphitheatre show on Saturday 2 April is off sale awaiting further information and government review.
Playing ahead of The Dandy Warhols and opening proceedings in Sydney will be The Buoys and Even in Adelaide and Melbourne.
Hoodoo Gurus long-awaited, and hotly-anticipated, new studio album – Chariot of the Gods – is set for worldwide release on Friday, 11 March. This is the band’s first album in over a decade (the longest interval between Hoodoo Gurus‘ albums in their 40 year history) and is available to pre-order from here.
Chariot of the Gods is classic Gurus – 14 tracks (17 on the deluxe double-vinyl edition) featuring the relatable lyricism and peerless songwriting placed in a distinctively Australian context that the band are renowned for.
Hoodoo Gurus‘ fans across the globe can hear Chariot of the Gods played in its entirety for the very first time, as well as some classic Gurus’ bangers, ahead of the tour when eMusic Live streams a special event worldwide on 10 March.
With special guests, iconic US indie-darlings, The Dandy Warhols (all shows) plus Even (SA & VIC) and The Buoys (NSW) on the bill, this is a stellar line-up you won’t want to miss.
