It’s been a busy few weeks at our big, little theatre with SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER deep in rehearsals, LOVESONG in its final weeks of sold out shows, finalising our 2019 season, and two of our INK works embarking on further lives; JURASSICA is currently on tour while DESERT, 6:29pm readies to go the Wuzhen Theatre Festival in China. (See, we told you it was busy).
Our 2019 season is shaping up to be full of incredible plays we can’t wait to reveal. We would love you to join us at our launch on the evening of Tuesday 27th November, so save the date in your diaries now.
We rarely do classics at Red Stitch, but were inspired to explore an iconic Tennessee Williams play with Stephen Nicolazzo (THE MOORS) at the helm. The SUDDENLY LAST SUMMER cast and creatives are deep in rehearsals and we can’t wait for you to see the outcome in a few weeks.
Here’s your first look into their rehearsal room:
Ensemble actor Kate Cole as Catharine Holly.
Guest actors, Charles Purcell as Dr Cukrowicz and Jennifer Vuletic as Mrs. Violet Venable.
Guest actor Zoe Boesen as Mrs. Holly and Ensemble Graduate actor Harvey Zielinski as George Holly.
Ensemble actor Caroline Lee as Sister Felicity.
Guest actor Chanella Macri as Miss Foxhill.
Stephen Nicolazzo directs.
Last chance to see LOVESONG
LOVESONG tickets have been moving fast, with two sold-out shows already this week! There are a handful of tickets left for the remaining shows, and only nine performances left of this “deeply moving” work.
“A tear-jerker…a poignant but clear-eyed portrayal…captivating depth and subtlety…delicate and affecting performances…” – ★★★★, The Age
“Intimate, heartbreaking and warm…exceedingly tight and never indulgent…seriously good stuff.” – Australian Stage
LOVESONG must close September 23, book now!
