What would you say are the basic pieces any woman should have in their closets?

I would say a nice pair of straight jeans (maybe Levi’s), an everyday classic bag, a white shirt, and a nice blazer!

Which celebrities do you think have the best sense of style and why?

My favorite celebrity style has to be Olivia Palermo. I’ve always been a big fan of hers and her style. She’s very chic and classy! And then of course Princess Diana, I loved her style and she was an absolute icon!

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I like to take road trips (even small ones!) with my boyfriend and our dog! When Covid hit we drove to Texas (where he is from) and although it was a super long road trip, it was one of my favorite experiences ever! Since then, we started taking road trips every now and then and I really enjoy it!

Which social media platforms do you use the most?

Instagram is definitely the one I use the most, then I would say Facebook as it helps me keep in touch with my friends back home. And then I love TikTok: I don’t really post there but I love scrolling and finding lots of funny and interesting videos!

How is fashion in Italy compared to Los Angeles?

I think fashion in Los Angeles is way more laid back than it is in Italy. In Los Angeles none really cares about brands or branded items, people look more at the style of the item rather than the brand or quality. Whereas in Italy, quality and brands are very important. People like to dress up more, even if they have to do groceries. I’ll never see someone wearing leggings or sweats while doing groceries in Italy!

What websites or blogs do you read daily?

I like to keep myself informed on fashion news, trends, fashion shows, so I always like to read Vogue.com daily.

Who are your favorite designers or photographers?

My favorite designer is for sure Prada, I love this Italian fashion label and I had the pleasure to attend lots of their fashion shows in Milan and they never disappoint. I like how Miuccia Prada is always able to design super chic and feminine clothes, which embody the perfect Milan style, but they always have an innovative twist. Besides Prada being my favorite brand, Miuccia Prada is also one of my biggest inspirations: she’s always been a strong, successful woman, with a great sense of style (of course), which is who I aspire to be. As for photographers, I admire the work of Helmut Newton, for his beautiful black and white photos.

How is a day in your life when you are working?

My days are always pretty busy! I usually wake up around 8 and make breakfast for my boyfriend and I. I leave for work around 9.20am so I can be there on time at 10am. My days are always filled with meetings, zoom calls with clients, new projects. Usually I have zoom meetings with clients that are in Europe in the mornings, after that I check with my team to see what’s on the to-do list for the day, and we split tasks. I take my lunch break around 1pm, and after my break I usually take appointments in the showrooms with influencers and stylists, work on new events concepts, as well as new ideas for our clients, to present to them. I leave work at 6.30pm and I head home where I usually find my boyfriend cooking dinner for both of us already! We are always very tired, so after a big dinner we watch a good movie and head to bed no later than 9.30/10pm!

Many people don’t understand the difference between PR and Advertising. They are similar in the sense that, in both cases, the ultimate goal is to build and promote a brand with target audiences. The most basic difference between them is that advertising space is paid while public relations results are earned through providing the media with information in the form of press releases, pitches or celebrity features. That’s why the job of a PR person is extremely important. He/she has to have genuinely good connections and be very smart about his/her approach to celebrities, magazine editors, and TV producers. Because they do not pay for publicity or media coverage, Public Relations (PR) Specialists must find creative ways to keep the company’s brand name in the public eye.

Giulia Baggini is one of the best-known Fashion PR persons in Los Angeles. She is the VIP Relations Specialist at CLD PR, one of the biggest Public Relations agencies in LA. There, Giulia leads a team and works closely with the most important influencers and celebrities such as Rihanna, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus, or Cardi B, among many others, making sure they get the dress in the most striking way to impress their audience and promote the brands that Giulia represents.

“My days are always filled with meetings, zoom calls with clients, and new projects. Usually, I have zoom meetings with clients that are in Europe in the mornings.” Says Giulia Baggini.

Fashion PR gives a lot more credibility to the audience than advertising because the readers know that the brand didn’t pay to be featured. Giulia Baggini not only organics large fashion events, but she takes her job to next level getting the biggest celebrities in the world to wear the clothes of the brands she represents. When the fans of these artists see what they are wearing, the sales of the products skyrocket in a matter of hours.

But, how do they choose what influencer is going to wear their brands? Baggini says “it really depends what the brand wants to achieve with the collaboration. Sure, followers count, but there are other factors to look at: first of all find a pool of influencers that identify with the aesthetic of your brand and that speak to the market you want to approach. From there I would look into what their engagement is, based on followers count and number of likes/comments. Nowadays, I noticed brands like to focus on smaller influencers that have a great engagement, as they have a community that actually engages with them and is invested in what the influencer promotes.”

Giulia Baggini started in the fashion industry thanks to her fashion blog ‘Giulia’s Fashion Blog’, and she says, “I was very young when I started my first blog, and I was one of the first ones to do this in Italy. I loved fashion so I wanted to share this passion I had with the world. Additionally, I’ve always enjoyed putting together outfits and looks, so I was also sharing photos of myself wearing my favourite looks, which is something that I really liked back then. After a while, I also started writing reviews about fashion shows, new trends, so it translated more into a real fashion blog rather than a blog just about me and my outfits!”

She started to gain big recognition in Italy and later on this Italian Fashion PR prodigy, started a new blog called “Les Milanesi”, a fashion and lifestyle platform co-founded with her friend and colleague, Margherita. Giulia and Margherita continued this project forward with passion and dedication, writing not only about the latest trends and fashion shows, but also about beauty and travel. Thanks to the blog “Les Milanese Giulia managed to earn even more recognition appearing on both the national and international editions of magazines like Elle, Marie Claire, Grazia, Vogue, Gioia, Cosmopolitan IT, Grazia UK, Grazia IT, or Elle Japan.

Nowadays, Giulia Baggini is one of the most sought-after Fashion PR creatives in Los Angeles.

Also, in 2015, Giulia partners with a famous group of multi brand shops in Italy: the PozziLei boutiques, and their vintage brand “Nightmarket.it”, through the management of their social channels. This partnership increases in 2017 when Giulia completes her studies at the Marangoni Institute and decides to focus on the job of Fashion Buyer for the PozziLei Boutiques (located in Treviglio, Crema and Monza) for which she visits the most prestigious showrooms in Milan and Paris (like Fendi, Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent) during sales campaigns. The partnership with this group ends in June 2018 when Giulia starts to harbour a desire to expand her horizons, move abroad and try new experiences and learn new realities.
