FEATURING OWEN PALLETT
“Colwell is an artist, singer and composer who refuses to be categorised. Recalling Roy Orbison, Jeff Buckley and Kate Bush, his range is dizzying…”
– The Guardian
Today, Jack Colwell has surprise-released a new song, ‘I Will Not Change My Ways‘, featuring Polaris Prize-winning Canadian musician Owen Pallett.
The track was written by Jack and arranged by Owen for guitar and string orchestra. It was recorded in one take on a snowy day in Toronto.
Jack says: “It’s about staying strong in the face of discrimination. With so much uncertainty and fear in the world at this time, I wanted to release something resilient and hopeful. It’s an encouragement to be steadfast, against all odds.”
The collaborative track follows Jack’s singles In My Dreams and Weak, which will appear on his forthcoming debut album, due to be released in May 2020.
Owen Pallett’s most recent album was In Conflict (Domino). He has collaborated with The Arcade Fire, Frank Ocean and Taylor Swift.
