We are delighted to feature the classy talent of SAMANTHA MORLEY on Sept 12, with masterly JIM GLASSON on saxophone, Upstairs at the welcoming Water Rat Hotel.
A versatile and talented jazz artiste, Samantha has worked in Australia and abroad in various bands and shows, across genres and is also the prima singer in the RAAF Band, singing Jazz, Big Band, Soul & Pop in Australia and Internationally – such is her musicianship. With the JMQ Ensemble she has sung previously at various jazz venues and her tasteful solo jazz album, The ‘Nearness of You’, was very well received. She also appears in Grand WaZoo.Featured Saxophonist is JIM GLASSON, an all-rounder, in demand by many bands across the years, who has performed with bandleader John Montesante for decades. He was part of the first JMQ Jazz Ensemble in 1990 too.
Joining them on the bandstand this evening are topline performers: Michael Harding (piano), Barney Loveland (double bass), Tony Floyd (drums) & John Montesante (trumpet/flugelhorn). Doors 6.30pm. Live Jazz at 7 pm.
