JMQ Jazz Thursday at WATER RAT HOTEL

On July 11, JULIARNA CLARK and AARON MICHAEL feature with JMQ at The Water Rat Hotel at 7PM

 

JULIARNA is a dynamic jazz singer of great talent and artistry who brings warmth, elegance and humour to all her performances. A night out with her guarantees toe-tapping, marvelling, a few laughs and great memories of a fabulous night of music. She will perform some French repertoire to honour upcoming Bastille Day, as well as standards from the great American Song Book, and masterly saxophonist AARON MICHAEL, an exceptional all-rounder shall thrill you with his stunning solos.

Stemming from a musical family AARON began playing the Alto Saxophone at an early age and after finishing high school went on to study Jazz at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music during which time he made the switch to the Tenor Saxophone.

 

Studying with Col Loughnan, John Hoffman,

Tony Buchanan and James Ryan he quickly developed a high level of craftsmanship, before moving to Sydney in 1999 to become an in-demand artist on the music circuit. In recent years he moved to the RAAF Band, where he shall be a Music Director in the coming year.

 

The always marvellous JMQ Jazz Ensemble shall comprise guest John Mcall, Tom Lee, David Hicks & John Montesante

JOHN MONTESANTE QUINTET (aka JMQ Jazz Ensemble) The JMQ is a stylish horn-led jazz combo, formed by renowned musician – arranger – band leader -John Montesante in 1990.
