I must confess Pinot Gris is not my usual choice.
However it was a cold night and I didn’t feel like a red, but craved something a little different, a bolder white would suit the cooler weather.
So a Josmeyer Le Fromenteau Pinot Gris was just the answer or so I thought. What I got was something unexpected and a refreshing surprise.
The wine was not as bold as I had expected in fact it was very much on the dry side, with a powerful and fresh mineral back bone running side by side with fresh orchard pears the full length of this stunning wine with the ghost of residual sugar on a wonderful finish.
(Let the wine warm don’t put it back in the fridge)
