Welcome to Listen To Older Voices,
a program produced by Rob Greaves for Wesley Connect and podcast through
the Toorak Times and Tagg - This is a special 1,000th program.
Listen To Older Voices presents the stories, views and opinions of our older citizens. It is predominantly in a life & times format, with interviewees reflecting upon their lives from earliest memories. An underlying principal of the program is to promote the concept of positive ageing, reinforcing the principle that older people have & continue to make a valuable contribution to both their local & wider community.
This is a special “Baby Boomers” Program.
This is the 1000th program of Listen To Older Voices, and we feature a 4-part program of a Baby Boomer who went on to become one of the most popular singer/entertainers in Australian music history. This is the Life & Times of Normie Rowe.
In this program Normie willingly shares intimate stories of his early life with his mother, father and family. We follow his life from his earliest memories, through his school years and as we do, we also begin to understand what drove Normie into a musical career that commenced in the early 1960’s and continues through to today.
