1,960 Bashers stripped down for the annual Undie Run, raising a record $68,600 for the RFDS in a celebration of outback spirit.

Out on the iconic Mundi Mundi Plains, where the outback meets the horizon, 1,960 festival-goers donned their wildest, wackiest undies for the Mundi Undi Run—Australia’s quirkiest charity event. From mankinis to morphsuits, to tradies and t-rexes, the creativity was on full display as participants raced to raise funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS). This year, the Bashers outdid themselves, smashing last year’s record of 1,500 participants and raising an incredible $68,600.

The Mundi Undi Run, now a beloved staple of the festival, is more than just a laugh—it’s a testament to the outback spirit and the power of community. Since its inception, the Mundi Mundi Bash has celebrated everything that makes outback Australia unique, from the vast red plains to the strong sense of camaraderie that unites those who live, work, and play in rural towns across our sunburnt country. The event has become a vital part of the local economy, drawing thousands of visitors every year who support rural towns and small businesses, and give back directly through initiatives like the Mundi Undi Run.

Festival Founder and Managing Director of the Outback Music Festival Group, Greg Donovan, shared his admiration for the participants, saying, “Year after year, I’m blown away by the creativity and dedication of our Bashers. Whether they’re donning Superman speedos or grannie undies, it’s all for a great cause. The RFDS is a lifeline for those in the outback, and it’s heartening to see our community come together to support such an essential service. The Mundi Mundi Bash is more than just a festival—it’s a celebration of everything that makes outback Australia special, and I’m thrilled to see it growing bigger and better every year.”

As the Mundi Mundi Bash continues to rock the outback, today’s fun run is just beginning. Attendees can look forward to performances from some of Australia’s most beloved artists, including Ash Grunwald, Richard Clapton, Diesel, Tim Finn, Rolling Stones Revue, James Reyne, and Bjorn Again, as the festival promises another unforgettable day of music under sweeping sunny skies.

The Mundi Mundi Bash is produced by the Outback Music Festival Group, which also stages the Birdsville Big Red Bash which took place in outback QLD in July. For more information, visit www.bigredbash.com.au.
