When Melbourne duo nyck (pronounced n.y.c.k) uploaded their debut single ‘Decision’ to triple j Unearthed in 2016, they had no idea it would end up touching the hearts of so many. In just a few short weeks, they were named Feature Artists on triple j Unearthed, named as support for Emma Louise at Corner Hotel and sold out their ‘Decision’ single launch at the Wesley Anne in Melbourne.
Seemingly, nothing is holding nyck back in 2017. So far this year the duo have been announced as supporting artists on the completely sold out Amy Shark Adore Tour this March and April; and only a month ago nyck uploaded their second single ‘Speak My Mind’ to triple j Unearthed to what can only be described as an overwhelming response.

Today, it is with great pleasure that the Mushroom Group welcome nyck to the 100’s + 1000’s roster, officially release ‘Speak My Mind’ and announce some very special and intimate single launch showcases at Brighton Up Bar in Sydney on Friday 21 April and Workers Club in Melbourne on Friday 28 April.
‘Speak My Mind’ is a beautifully melodic, melancholic and romantic exploration into love and life in the city. Lyrically, ‘Speak My Mind’ is a pre-cursor to ‘Decision’, exploring the days and weeks before the break of a long term love; the turning point in a relationship to which ‘Decision’ was the breaking point. Produced by Melbourne musician, Hayden Calnin, ‘Speak My Mind’ marks a shift in energy for the duo, who pair the same rawness with beautiful harmonies and soulful, lush instrumentation.
Supporting the music, nyck will launch a long term collaboration with renowned photographer, Ben Morris. A New York local, Morris has been published in some of the world’s most acclaimed fashion magazines including British Vogue, Vogue UA, Elle, Numero, Muse, Interview, Wonderland, Arena Homme + and Purple. For each of nyck’s forthcoming releases, Morris has taken a collection of photographs on film that are directly inspired by the music.
