PBS Radio Festival 2021: Make It Home
Monday 17 May – Sunday 30 May 2021

“If there was a positive to come out of 2020 it was the realisation that PBS was an amazing conduit keeping us all connected through isolation. Music is good for the soul and PBS delivers in spades. Being a part of something bigger than yourself is a beautiful thing.” – Miss Goldie
It’s that time of year again folks, PBS Radio Festival is back and the station is celebrating with its 2021 theme ‘Make It Home’. From today until Sunday 30 May, PBS is asking listeners to help complete the build at their new residence at The Collingwood Yards, making it a great sounding and technically robust radio station that is capable of taking PBS into the future while continuing to be a warm and inviting home for music lovers.
Like the rest of the music industry, PBS has felt the economic effects of COVID and is still struggling to recover. In 2020, station revenue dropped significantly with sponsorship plummeting and events cancelled. The station was only able to stay afloat thanks to the immense support of members. As PBS embarks on its move to The Collingwood Yards, it needs your support more than ever! By joining up as a PBS member, renewing a lapsed membership during Radio Festival, or making a tax deductible donation to PBS, listeners can tangibly assist the station’s final steps to ‘Make It Home’ this year.
By supporting the station during its biggest fundraiser of the year, you are choosing to support the very best in music and radio. PBS members actively sustain independent, non-playlisted, thought-provoking radio created by a team of dedicated volunteer presenters, who champion the best emerging, specialist and underrepresented music 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. For over four decades, PBS has done this, with the past 20 years at their Easey Street home being some of the most transformational the station has seen. Now, the next chapter begins and you can play your part, no matter how big or small, in laying the foundations of another exciting era in community radio history, and of course, be in the running for a truckload of exclusive member prizes while you’re at it.
The 2021 PBS Radio Festival Major Prizes awaiting you are:
– Primavera 125 i-GET Vespa – Courtesy of Vespa Australia & Peter Stevens Motorcycles
– Clingan Guitar Tone handmade electric guitar and road case
