Join Powerhouse Head of Collections, First Nations, Nathan mudyi Sentance and Collections Coordinator, First Nations, Tammi Gissell to learn about the museum’s recently developed deed of deposit process, which allows First Nations communities to deposit cultural material with the Powerhouse for safekeeping while retaining all legal rights.
Nathan and Tammi will detail the benefits and practicalities of implementation of the museum’s initiatives from the perspective of collections and registration.
This webinar is designed for staff and volunteers of museums and the collecting sector. A 30-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute Q+A session.

Join Powerhouse volunteer program manager Cate Purcell for a two-hour workshop on how to attract and inspire volunteer participation in your museum.
If you have ever wondered about the key ingredients for a long and fruitful working relationship with museum volunteers, then this workshop will be useful.
Cate has overseen the development and implementation of an integrated volunteer program at Powerhouse since 2002. The museum currently has 200 volunteers and places a strong emphasis on learning and collaboration within volunteer roles.
Some of the topics and strategies Cate will cover in this workshop are enhancing visitor experience, building the visitor experience through a volunteer tool kit, and connecting and sharing volunteer stories.
This event is designed for staff and volunteers working in museums and the collecting sector. The session will conclude with a one-hour tour, led by a museum registrar, of one of our storage areas.

Join Powerhouse senior curator Roger Leong for an insightful webinar that examines the iconic work of fashion designer Carla Zampatti, focusing on the designer’s garments currently on display in the Powerhouse exhibition Zampatti Powerhouse.
Roger Leong has curated exhibitions, published and lectured on numerous areas relating to fashionable dress from the 19th century to the present. He has extensive research interests that include Regency dress, Art Deco style, contemporary millinery and footwear including sneakers, Japanese fashion, 1980s power-dressing, men’s dress, prestige dressmakers and ready-to-wear designers in Australia, to name just a few.
This webinar is designed for regional tertiary students and staff and volunteers of museums and the collecting sector. A 30-minute presentation will be followed by a 15-minute Q+A session.
