Red Stitch Theatre | The Way Things Work – Victorian Premiere byAidan Fennessy 31 January – 5 March

 

 

Multi award-winning writer and director Aidan Fennessy (What Rhymes With Cars and Girls, National Interest) makes a long- awaited return to Red Stitch, with the Victorian premiere of his own play The Way Things Work, a wicked and topical satire about men, power, bribery and blackmail and the lengths they’ll go to.

 

Minister Barlow is in it deep – he has overseen the construction of the multi-million dollar Western Link Tunnel via a public-private partnership. Whilst he has brought it in on time and on budget, there’s just one little problem… special concrete.

 

This frighteningly accurate and devastatingly funny representation of corruption follows the men involved as it travels from high public office, through the private sector and finally into the criminal class.

 

The Way Things Work will be directed by Aidan Fennessy and will feature Red Stitch ensemble member Joe Petruzzi alongside guest actor Peter Houghton.
