Seraphim Plays Schubert
…absolute sonic cohesion and uniform musical maturity…a masterclass in chamber music
technique and ensemble. The Australian
This September, Seraphim Trio will perform in a series of recitals in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide as part of their year-long immersion in Schubert, a program devised around his entire chamber works for piano trio.
Liszt described Schubert as the most poetic musician who ever lived and the two Schubertiades bring you into the poetry and intimacy of this world.
Always inventive, the Trio’s recitals also include the wonderful Weekend Feasts – where you can indulge in fine food and wine and Schubert.
Seraphim will be joined by violist Jacqui Cronin and bassist David Campbell (Sydney) and Belinda Kendall-Smith (Adelaide) for Schubert’s timeless Trout Quintet and Schubert’s rarely heard piano quartet.
Seraphim Trio is recognised for its outstanding contribution to the musical life of Australia. Over the last two decades, Helen Ayres, Anna Goldsworthy and Tim Nankervis have remained steadfastly committed to chamber music, from building the contemporary repertoire to developing new audiences and teaching the next generation of performers.
A regular guest at music festivals throughout Australia, Seraphim has released two CDs on ABC Classics, the latest Beethoven Piano Trio, and has commissioned a broad repertoire of new Australian works.
