NEW VIDEO SERIES ‘LIVING WITH PURPOSE’ BY FLOURISH PR HIGHLIGHTS REPURPOSE IT, VICTORIAN TRAILBLAZER IN RESOURCE RECOVERY AND RECYCLING Generating a campaign reach of 5.1M for Repurpose It
Victorian-based resource recovery and recycling business has engaged Melbourne PR agency, Flourish, to produce an online series ‘Living With Purpose’ hosted by celebrity gardener and sustainability expert Jamie Durie.
The organisation joined the Flourish portfolio in 2022 and the online series has been released in installments via the Repurpose It website, social media and mainstream media coverage.
The series showcases the journey of household and commercial waste, from seemingly unusable scraps to repurposed materials ready to be put to good use back in the community. Along the way demystifying the consumer belief that all their waste is not being recycled.
Flourish Head of Strategy, Maria Crews said: “Our challenge was to take a B2B brand and introduce it to consumers. The approach of an online series allowed us to do that, not only was it hosted online, but we were able to gain significant media pickup to launch the series and ongoing as new episodes were released. Having content and PR working hand in hand has not only raised the awareness of the brand with consumers, it has also solidified the brand’s reputation with their key stakeholders.
The development of the series was prompted by the results of an independent survey, commissioned by Repurpose It, which revealed many consumers are sceptical about what happens to their waste when it goes out for recycling.
“Jamie shares the same level of passion and determination we have in preserving our resources for the next generations. This series is very important to share with the wider population to help show Australians how we recycle Food Organics, Garden Organics (FOGO), and what we can all do to contribute to the circular economy.” Erin Ford, Business Development & Partnerships Manager, Repurpose It said.
Melbourne-based Repurpose It is an award-winning resource recovery business that transforms waste such as soil, waste timber, concrete and food and garden organics (FOGO) into products that can be re-used in industries as diverse and major infrastructure works, construction and building, as well as landscaping. These old and previously unneeded waste streams can become new and useful materials such as barks and mulches, aggregate, sand and even organic compost.
