Our Festival is not only an opportunity to meet literary luminaries and brilliant minds but also to delve deeper into Balinese society through our Cultural Workshops.

So revel in the boundless ambition of your own curious minds as you explore the many workshops we have in place for you. Our local guides are keen to share their wealth of knowledge with you!

In this edition, we have also gathered three of our most thrilling and wondrous Festival film screenings for you. So if you are a movie lover, these are the ones you won’t want to miss.

And be sure to join our Perth Edition, just a week before the Festival kicks off, and catch a range of fascinating panel discussions of emerging and acclaimed authors from Indonesia and Down Under. If you can’t join us in person, all our events will be live-streamed.

We cannot wait to spend a four-day weekend with you, tackling big ideas and revelling in the power of words.

Cooking Class and Market Tour

With the Casa Luna Cooking School team, learn about Balinese cuisine’s colorful array of herbs and spices at Ubud Central Market, then return to the Cooking School to prepare a lavish Balinese feast

The workshop will introduce you to the wealth of natural remedies growing wild around Ubud. Your Guides have studied Usada Bai, a traditional Balinese healing book, and have spent much time using Balinese plants in their daily lives.

Discover the reasons behind the rituals of Balinese Hindu offerings. This is a rare opportunity to learn about the Balinese Hindu belief system and the rich variety of ancient offerings and ceremonies held across the island.

Village Cycling

Sunday, 30 October

This cycling tour allows you to see some of Bali’s greatest treasures. The tour starts just outside Ubud center and travels through rice field tracks and back roads through local villages and rice terraces.
