South Melbourne Market will again be transformed into a magical night market on balmy Thursday evenings, and this year will be bigger and better than ever with more food, shopping, seating and more of the Market open to explore.

From twilight on Thursday 5 January, South Melbourne Market will buzz with a feast of street food, market stalls and music, every Thursday for eight weeks until 23 February. This season sees an incredible line-up of food trucks, carts, restaurants and bars, plus lots of shopping and free live music across four stages. There’s also free parking on the rooftop from 5.30pm.

Eat & Drink

Wrap your mouth around a fish slider washed down with a craft beer. Taste hand-made gnocchi with beef ragu or butter chicken. Get a taste of Europe with raclette fondue and a ham and cheese crepe. Finish off with Mexican icecream and Danish donuts.

Live Music

Every Thursday, there will be four stages of free live music featuring the best local music acts in town. With everything from alt pop to blues, country, soul, folk, roots and jazz, there’s something to tickle everyone’s musical fancy. Check out the weekly line-up.

Shopping

This year will be bigger and better with more food, stalls, music and space to relax. The Market’s Centre Aisle and many of our permanent stalls will also be open for the first time during the evenings. So make sure you leave time to wander through inside and out.
