Tarps are a common sight on a construction site, and they come in a multitude of colours with plenty of uses as an added benefit. Some construction tarp types include:

There are plenty of uses for a tarp on a construction site, a common one utilising a tarp as a form of enclosure or covering of an open building. These tarps are used to protect against any weather or bad winds. They can also double as protection and privacy against the public when the site is left unattended.
Sandblasting tarps are also a form of protection however they specialise in keeping out something much smaller and finer than the passing public. The sandblasting process creates a lot of fine debris, like a dust-like powder, that once inhaled, can be hazardous to one’s health. In order to prevent this, workers set up these containment tarps in order to aid in keeping the dust to a minimum. Set up like an enclosure surrounding the workers and the machines, it keeps the dust contained to a smaller area rather than letting the wind carry it throughout the site.
Scaffold sheeting or scaffold tarps also serve a protective purpose. Application is quite simple; these tarps wrap around scaffolding to create a fabricated wall encasing the steel framework. Benefits of using these construction tarps include:
- Security for the workers climbing up and down the framework.
- Aids in protecting workers and the machinery from the surrounding elements.
- While protecting from the weather, it allows around the clockwork, even during bad weather.
- They also aid in encasing the workspace and preventing any dust or unwanted particles from either escaping or entering the worksite.
Concrete curing tarps, on the other hand, are specially used during the drying process. These tarps can be utilised during both cold and warm weather. But they are not limited to just being a piece of flat tarp that is laid over the wet concrete, they can also be used to cover a structure above so as to cover a larger amount of area whilst still allowing workers to manoeuvre and work beneath it.
A huge portion of construction tarps is dedicated to either protecting or containing work and or machinery. On the whole, containment tarps are suited to assisting in most aspects of the site work.
