Telstra Best of Business Awards Promoting Sustainability: Lyka Pet Food

For over 30 years, the Telstra Best of Business Awards has celebrated the small and medium-sized businesses moving Australia forward. The program provides an opportunity for entrants to learn from Australia’s best business minds and be celebrated on the national stage.

At the National Gala event held in Sydney last Thursday night, the 2024 Telstra Best of Business National Winners were announced. Aussie sportswear brand, LSKD, was crowned the 2024 Telstra Best of Business Awards Business of the Year. An additional six businesses were recognised as National Winners across the seven awards categories.

The 2024 National Winners are:

  • Business of the Year and Outstanding Growth: LSKD (QLD)
    LSKD is an Australian-owned and operated brand that prides itself on producing high-quality functional sportswear with a street aesthetic. LSKD is committed to being a responsible, sustainable business that cares for its supply chain, its people, and the planet, with a mission to inspire others to be 1% better every day.
  • Acclerating Women: mumamoo (SA)
    mumamoo is a female owned infant formula company that is 100% Australian made, owned and manufactured. The business has expanded from an exclusively South Australian customer base to being sold nationally in more than 800 stores.
  • Building Communities: Evolve Communities (NSW)
    Led by Co-Directors Carla Rogers and Aunty Munya Andrews, Evolve Communities is a trusted provider of cultural awareness training and allyship accreditation. Whether in person or online, Evolve Communities core programs are facilitated by an Indigenous and non-Indigenous team, modelling allyship.
  • Championing Health: Earworx (TAS)
    Earworx is a dedicated ear cleaning clinic with locations across Australia. Earworx specialises in removing impacted ear wax using dry and effective microsuction technology under direct observation, helping to alleviate the uncomfortable symptoms of excess ear wax.
  • Embracing Innovation: Transmutation (SA)
    Transmutation is a craft sized recycling and manufacturing business that makes and sells circular economy products, proving to its customers that waste can be great. The business sells everything from bags, belts, clothing and jewellery, homewares, and more.
  • Indigenous Excellence: Eather Group (NSW)
    Eather Group is an Indigenous-led business offering sustainable solutions to traditional issues in the civil, construction and waste-to-resource industries. Its vision is to create a circular economy in the infrastructure sector, sourcing, transporting and re-purposing material for projects, to care for our country while developing workforce equity and diversity.
  • Promoting Sustainability: Lyka Pet Food (NSW)
    Lyka Pet Food is flipping the pet food industry on its head, delivering fresh, human-grade wholefood meals straight to customers around Australia, with a mission to transform the health of Aussie dogs.

The National Winners were awarded following a thorough judging process, which included in-depth interviews with a range of senior business leaders, including Small Business Australia Director, Bill Lang, MindTribes CEO, Div Pillay, and Cochlear CEO and President, Dig Howitt, among others.
