A Flappaganza it was!

The Flappaganza creation, “Pink Flappy Bits” of Tara Dowler and Louise Mapleston is a rollicking fast-paced musical comedy appearing at Melbourne’s Butterfly Club from the 3^rd April until the 9^th April as part of the Melbourne Comedy Festival.

Tara and Lou appear as our hosts of their mad-cap house party where all are invited in an embrace of diversity of all mainstream and minority identities. In their quirky banter, they had the audience” cracked up” dispelling any stereotypes of the elusive “system” through an interplay of rolling gags and musical ditties.

Tara and Lou provide an infectious high energy buzz as hostess anarchic Queens of “see-burbia”, bemoan a lack of female solidarity in their contemporary world and encourage the erosion of any limitations regarding individual creative expression. In a light-hearted sparkle of vibrancy our hostesses poke fun and provide appetizers to much and chew over within a broad debate of the breadth of feminist theory in the contemporary metropolis.

In their hilarious brashness, Tara and Lou present 3 of their party guests, Diana Nguyen, Jude Perl and Clara Cupcakes who offer delightful entrees of their own shows at this year’s MCF. Jude Perl’s musical comedy over the piano with a powerful jazz soul voice is a highlight.

“Pink Flappy Bits” is a lot of fun and had the audience in laughter and leaving the Flappaganza in smiles.
