Join Penny Teale, Senior Curator at McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery in a conversation about public art commissions – the submission process and installing sculpture in public spaces. Penny will talk about the biennial Southern Way McClelland Commissions, a program of 14 public commissions which commenced in 2011 and will continue until 2037. Penny will be joined by artist Louise Paramor who has been commissioned for a number of permanent public sculptures, the most recent being the monumental Panorama Station, Peninsula Link Freeway, Melbourne (2012). Louise graduated from the Western Australian Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Painting (1985) and completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Sculpture at the Victorian College of the Arts (1988). McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery is Australia’s leading centre for sculpture and aspires to lead the international conversation between art and environment.
