St Kilda’s Acland Plaza is playing host to free outdoor entertainment from talented artists including Ella Hooper, Tim Rogers, Amos Roach, Benny Walker, and Clare Bowditch for the next two weekends.

The activation, funded by the Victorian Government, was launched today (6 May) by former Port Phillip Council Mayor Louise Crawford.

Councillor Crawford said the initiative is a great addition to St Kilda’s renowned live music culture.

“As the weather cools, this is a great way for residents and visitors to enjoy live entertainment – as well as the fantastic shops and eateries in Acland Street.”

More information about the live entertainment, at the corner of Acland and Barkly streets, can be found on Council’s Autumn on Acland page.

In a further free entertainment bonus, live music, street performers and free children’s activities will add colour to the Carlisle Street shopping strip in Balaclava throughout autumn.

Autumn on Carlisle Street is a series of activities and performances hosted by Port Phillip Council, in collaboration with the Carlisle Street Traders’ Association, and funded by the Victorian Government’s COVIDSafe Outdoor Activation Fund.

At 163 Carlisle Street, a pop-up stage will be the setting for children’s activities such as street juggling, face painting and balloon twisting complemented by a variety of local artists and performers.

Several performances are scheduled each week from 30 April – 11 June. More information about the schedule of events and artists involved can be found on Council’s Autumn on Carlisle Street page.

All musicians have been booked via Council’s Live N Local website in support of our Live Music Action Plan.

Both Autumn on Acland and Autumn on Carlisle Street are part of the continued push to reinvigorate Port Phillip’s local neighbourhoods and to support traders.
