Dream State at the Library

Experience a different state of mind as you journey through the Library at night as part of Visit Victoria’s Art After Dark.

Immerse yourself in the Library’s Dome as our iconic 360-degree after-dark projections return for two nights only. Be transported through the city and over bridges to tidal saltmarsh pools, exploring the colours, sounds and beauty of these unique ecosystems as the La Trobe Reading Room will come to life with Midnight at Pink Lake – a dreamlike projection created by The Orbweavers and Gatherer Media with The Electric Canvas.

Then kick back with a drink and enjoy as roving performers entertain and music flows throughout the Library’s reading rooms, or explore mindfulness, music and wellbeing in interactive workshops scattered in amongst book stacks and across the historic building. Discover the healing power of art and literature as live drawing, writing activities and papercraft open a creative space for us to dwell quietly away from the noise outside, leaving the Library with a feeling of rejuvenation.
