A Gold Coast start-up inspired by a confronting trip to Mt Everest is hitting new heights, today reporting an epic 5900 per-cent revenue growth year-on-year.

Lucent Globe, a start-up that produces an innovative range of zero-waste, plant-based and 100% biodegradable household cleaning products, was founded by 27-year old twin brothers Roger and Brodie Cook in 2021.

After just two years, business is booming for the brothers with the start-up gaining national attention for its detergent sheets that are good for both people and planet. The company’s growth confirms that conscious consumerism in Australia is still on the rise.

What started as a kitchen bench operation fulfilling just over 2,000 orders a year, has now turned into a scale-up success with the company securing over 60,000 orders to date this year, with growth climbing to over 4,000 orders per week earlier this month.

Proudly touting over 1,500 5-star customer reviews and over 5,500 repeat customers, Lucent Globe continues to surge, with 13 new hires and a 1,200 square metre warehouse enlisted to help fulfil market demand.

Lucent Globe CEO and Co-Founder, Brodie Cook said the business strategy has been optimised for growth, as the company looks to target Australians seeking cost and environmentally friendly alternatives to their chemical-based laundry and dishwashing detergents.

“At the heart of our business model is a zero-compromise strategy, with a strong belief that households should not have to compromise on the quality or cost per clean when doing right by the planet,” said Mr Cook.

“With many Australian households feeling the pressures of inflation, it is really important for us to continue offering a quality, safe and accessible solution that doesn’t have a large impact on a user’s weekly expenses. Our detergent sheets cost approximately 37 cents per clean — that’s almost a third of the cost of our chemical-based competitors.”

Lucent Globe’s products are entirely biodegradable and plant based. The company currently produces two core product lines — dishwashing and laundry detergent sheets.

Lucent Globe Co-Founder and former chemistry teacher, Roger Cook said that the positive market response has confirmed the viability of expanding the company’s plant-based, zero-waste range.

“We’re very encouraged by this level of growth, and looking forward to upscaling the business in coming years through the research and development of complementary cleaning products. Our planet provides an abundance of eco-friendly compositions that can be used to effectively clean common household dirt and stains.
