Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) crews responded to a house fire in Mulgrave this evening, following multiple calls to Triple Zero (000).
The Toorak Times immediately deployed chief crime reporter and leading photographer Lord Murray Schoorman of Peak Hour Images to attend and photograph the scene.
Crews arrived on scene within 6 minutes to find the double storey brick home, fully engulfed in flames.
Wearing beathing apparatus (BA) and utilising an aerial appliance (Teleboom) to deliver water from a height, firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, bringing the incident under control within 55 minutes.
Four occupants were accounted for, having evacuated prior to brigade arrival. A 22yr old male was assessed for symptoms of smoke inhalation.
The cause is yet to be determined. Specialist fire investigators will attend the scene in daylight hours to determine a cause.
Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria were on scene to support firefighting activities.
Firefighters will remain on scene for some time, to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
A community advice was issued for smoke in the area.
