Welcome to Listen To Older Voices, a program produced by Rob Greaves and podcast through the Toorak Times and Tagg
This is the 4th and final part of my story and in it, I try to bring my story up to date. It is good to reflect on the changes we go thorough in life and the changes we witness, and I do this while reflecting on how I went to La Trobe University as a mature aged student to first gain a B.Ed and then a M.Ed.
I share with you how as I have moved well and truly into the “older generation” and with the ending of LTOV, I move into full-time retirement, but it does not and will not mean slowing down.

I share with you my passion for German Shorthaired Pointers, or GSP’s, and how this passion has assisted in setting up a national facebook group for people with pointers, that has over 9,000 members.

I also reflect on my growing concern for the anti-science movement that has fallen upon us and exemplified by the anti-vax movement, and of my despair over the lack of real action by Australia on climate change.
Yet I do have a positive outlook on life and despite my best intentions as a younger man, I have discovered the delights in gardening. A developing skill that came in handy when a 40m pine tree fell across the front of our property in 2021, totally devastating the entire front of the property and taking 6 months of work to clear and replant.

So it is that my story finishes on another positive note – with my music, one of the consistent things throughout my story.
