AFL end of year wrap up – 2017 predictions
So, here’s another write up of the season that was and the season to come. I’m not afraid to say I’ve had a few when I wrote this. Hope those Pies give me something to smile ‘bout next year. My mates, Fred, Pete Jackie, Jo and Rob will be at a pub in St Kilda cheering the boys on. We’ll have matching socks and I’ll have a shoehorn. Say hi and buy us a beer. Also, last year I made a projection that the Bulldogs wouldn’t make the finals this year. Yeah, you know how well that went. To be fair they finished seventh so I wasn’t far off my original projection. Sigh. So yeah that probably tells you how much I know about football. So if you wanna know what I think off footy, keep reading.
Adelaide: How good is Eddie Betts? Love that man. Crows had a solid season and will be in a strong position to plat finals again next year
Brisbane: Worst team in the comp by a country mile. Queensland footy landscape is as bad as Queensland was under Sir Joh (ROT IN HELL JOH). Bottom four again
Carlton: Earlier in the year I called Brendon Bolton a genius even though he coach’s that awful C worded team. Then it feel apart in the second half. Hahahaha. Won’t play finals next year.
COLLINGWOOD: Sigh, can we have one fucking preseason with us not being in the news, Neil Balm is apparently the greatest GM yet we piss him off for a second time and get in a bloke that has been suspended for a year. Good work Eddie. Oh, and Bucks, I love you but if you don’t make finals you’re out. I don’t need to say that as he knows so good luck shoehorn
Essendon: Drug free apparently, but still fucking cheats. Golden Boy Hird is a flog. I know he’s gone I just like saying it and forever will. FLOG. No Finals this season.
Fremantle: The big disappointment last year. Ross has had his day. Move on good sir. Another year with no September action.
Geelong: Lost a few of their champions they know how to rebuild. DD (what we call Dangerfield as it makes him sound less dangerous) probably the least deserving Brownlow winner in recent times. Not saying he’s bad just saying was an open year and no one was banging on the door to take Charlie he scoops it. Will play finals again.
Greater Western Sydney: The AFLs rich kids that have had everything spoon fed to em lost at the second last hurdle and how I loved it. Cop that. And also copped a fine for the Lanchie Whitfield fiasco. HAHAHAHA. Will make the 8 again.
Gold Coast: does anyone give a fuck bout these guys? Poor Rocket Eade. Gaz the former best player in the league is pretty much gonna phone it in from now on. Bottom four for me.
Hawthorn: The king is dead. Never seen so many people get from their seats and cheer and raise a glass when the Doggies got up over the Hawks. Good to see Roughie is back. I’ve always like him. Will go top 4 again.
Kangaroos: Is it just me or does Brad Scott come across like a shit bloke: Can’t stand him. His brother seems aright. Id drink with him. Brad cutting Boomer, Nicky Del and Pietrie will make or break his career. Personally, I’ll say break him. Won’t play finals. And thank god that wanker Brayshaw is gone. Now maybe someone will take the club seriously.
Melbourne: Did alright this year. Jack Watts had this best season ever, not saying a lot. Won’t play finals. In fact they will be worse next season.
Port Adelaide: Won’t do anything with that flog from Sunrise as president. Will be up there but think they’ll fall short of September.
Richmond: The Tiger of old came back this year. They were shit and I loved it. Won’t make finals again. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Sydney: Thought they were gonna end the Dogs fairytale story but wasn’t to me. Shame for them as the Swans had a near perfect season and finals series, just unlucky on the one day. Will go top four again.
St Kilda: the big Improvers of last season. Even though he’s a flog Nick Riewoldt is still at the top of his game. No finals for them
West Coast: If there was a team in the bottom part of the top 8 that was gonna do business in September I said the Eagles and they bombed out in the first week. Onya guys. Will make bottom part of the 8 again.
Western Bulldogs: Sigh, where do I start. In last year’s footy write up I said the Dogs Won’t make the flag and they won the whole fucking thing. Although they finished 7th so I wasn’t far off from my projection. Bob Murphy, you made me cry. Good for you. Will def be up for next year to have another crack.
