MEMO Music Hall has been many things. Among them, Telefil Recording Studios, established by the legendary pioneer of the Australian recording industry, Bill Armstrong, during the 1960s. Among the artists to begin their recording careers here, Normie, recorded his first No 1 – “It Ain’t Necessarily So” and also Bobby (Bright) & Laurie (Allan) recorded their smash hits “I Belong With You” & “Hitch Hiker”.
“In The Beginning” is a celebration of Telefil, the hits and the extraordinary careers it gave life to. Marcie didn’t record here but she was certainly there in the beginning with her own hits and a bunch with The Cookies.
