Woman who is part of a TV show charged with rape and child abuse offences allegedly spanning more than 10 years.
A woman from Queensland who is part of a reality TV show has been charged with multiple serious child abuse offences, including rape, allegedly spanning 10 years.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is accused by police of carrying out the crimes between 2005 and 2020 at various locations in the state, with her partner also charged with a number of assaults.
The TV network have not revealed whether the series would be axed or altered to remove the woman (and her male partner) and how long they have known of the charges when approached with the accusations by The Courier Mail.
Police have charged the woman with multiple counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16 and also with multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, torture and assault.
The man has been released on bail to appear at Richlands Magistrate’s Court in September.
The woman will appear at the same court in October after she was bailed under strict conditions including she reside at a listed address and does not contact specific individuals.
UPDATE: May 2025, a Court issued suppression order has now been lifted so we can exclusively reveal Claudine Uamaki (also known as Claudean Bernadette Uamaki-Mu) is a former contestant on the 2023 Australian reality cooking show My Kitchen Rules (MKR) who has faced serious criminal charges related to the abuse of a child. She and her husband, Anthony Mu, were identified after a court-imposed suppression order was lifted in April 2025.
- Guilty Pleas: In May 2025, Uamaki-Mu pleaded guilty to six counts of common assault against a child. The court heard details of her hitting, kicking, and spitting on the child.
- Sentencing: For the common assault charges, she received a $1,000 fine and a 12-month good behaviour bond, with no convictions recorded.
- Other Charges: She was also committed to stand trial in the District Court on 12 other charges, including 12 counts of rape, six counts of assault occasioning bodily harm, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of indecent treatment of children. These charges were filed in a 21-count indictment in July 2025.
- Husband’s Charges: Her husband, Anthony Mu, also faces a number of assault-related charges, and his trial has been adjourned to a later date.
