Support Act is pleased to advise that Jacqueline Purcell has been appointed as a Director of Support Act Limited, for an initial period of 2 years.
Jacqueline is the Chief Financial Officer of Sydney-based workforce management startup, Deputy. She joined the high-growth software company in March 2020, and is responsible for helping the business navigate the global health pandemic.
Prior to Deputy, Jacqui served as CFO of Culture Amp, a people and culture software platform, where she helped take the company valuation to north of one billion dollars. Jacqui also spent 8 years with Morgan Stanley in New York, advising Fortune 500 companies on financial strategy, mergers and acquisitions across a variety of industries. Jacqui started her career as a lawyer with Allens Arthur Robinson in Sydney. A graduate of University of Sydney, Jacqueline holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
“When looking to fill this vacancy, the Directors felt that it was important to look for a person with skills and experience outside of the music industry,” said Sally Howland, Chair of Support Act. “Jacqui’s diverse career fits perfectly with the Board’s aim to broaden its strategic perspective, and we all very much look forward to having her as part of the team.”
Sally also extended the Board’s thanks to all those who applied for this voluntary role, saying she was humbled by the interest and enthusiasm shown by so many talented people in serving the music industry in this way.
“I am incredibly honoured to take on this position,” said Jacqueline. “The events of this year have clearly highlighted the vital role Support Act plays to assist those working in the music industry through the provision of crisis relief services and mental health support. Joining the Board at such a pivotal time, I hope that my experience working in high growth, technology businesses can help Support Act continue to grow and positively impact more people in the music industry.”
