Welcome to our Season 2019!
We’re starting the year in high spirits with Michael Gow’s tightly wound, masterful play, Sweet Phoebe. We invite you to experience this bitingly funny modern Australian classic by one of our country’s most acclaimed playwrights, in this 25th anniversary production.
Successful Sydney couple Helen and Frazer have it all worked out. Together. Supportive of one another, they’re taking all the steps towards great mutual success. So surely they can deal with dog-sitting Phoebe – even if they’d rather not. But when disaster strikes, they are forced to leave their bubble, and engage with a version of the world – and themselves – that they would prefer did not exist.
Lead by director Mark Wilson, Red Stitch welcomes back guest actors Marcus McKenzie in the role of Frazer and Olivia Monticciolo as Helen, with designers Laura Jean Hawkins (set & costume), Lisa Mibus (lighting) and Daniel Nixon (sound), Sweet Phoebe is sure to sell fast, so book your tickets now!
But don’t stop at Sweet Phoebe! Our 2019 Season is chock-a-block full of wonderful home-grown and international writers, Australian and World premieres, and stories that make you ‘Think Again’. So why not get ahead of the year and secure your seats for 2019 by purchasing a Red Stitch subscription? (scroll down for more info.)
We hope you can join us at our big, little theatre in 2019.
Love,

Tribute to Roger Riordan
The entire Red Stitch company offers its condolences to the family of Dr. Roger Riordan, who recently passed away. Roger was the principal benefactor of Red Stitch for many years. His unwavering and generous support enabled Red Stitch to survive its precarious early years and then to grow and develop into the company it is today. The ensemble and staff of Red Stitch remain in deep gratitude to Roger and the Cybec Foundation for the transformational support provided to our organisation among many others.
