May – the fifth month of the craziest year
Well, it’s still pretty quiet on the going outside front…. but I’m okay with that.
I do have a date this week, on the radio, with the ever tenacious and musically passionate Jules Vine this SATURDAY 16 MAY. I don’t usually share my songs in anything other than their final state, but I’m thinking that is so yesterday of me, that I’m going to preview a few not the final mix, unmastered tunes from the new album. You’ll find us on 3MDR 97.1 FM between 9-11am. My moment is around 9.30.
I’ve been going through my recorded, demo-ed but never heard songs, and have decided to place them on BANDCAMP under a title I’ve yet to come up with.
I cover a lot of ground, and they range from recent to eons ago, there’s no common thread, except that I wrote them and as I’m ditching the perfection chip and hugging authenticity close to my heart, I’m offering them up with all their sonic quirks and lo-fi glory intact. I felt sad that they were never to be heard by anyone but me so they’ll be online over the next few weeks.
And….. I had a really beautiful thing happen, someone wanted to make a donation to the TLD fund, and I invented my own 2020 bartering idea and recorded a live little concert, complete with a light show courtesy of the $2 shop.
5 songs, me in a fur poncho, solo, imperfections included. If you would like your own version, let me know and I can arrange this. You can donate what feels right and you’ll have a slice of me forever, and ever, and ever…….
Here’s a link to one of the songs I’ll be including in the at-home with myself theatrical release
Take care of each other, or at least yourself, if anyone else is too much to manage.
Onward Soldiers of Solitude.
