We had 32 volunteers and 3 dogs for our clean this month at Princes Pier, New Beach.  The wind was blowing and there was definitely a feel of autumn in the air.

Thanks to everyone who was able to join us!

In an hour spent on the beach including the tideline and bushes area, the rock groynes and under the pier, we collected 17 bags of rubbish and about 6 bags of recyclable drink containers: 18 glass bottles,  64 plastic bottles and 26 cans.

We also counted 12 coffee cups/lids, 18 masks and 1 syringe. The usual culprits were collected too, namely cigarette butts, polystyrene pieces and numerous bits of both hard and soft plastics.  And all of this after a corporate group came out the day before, collected & counted over 3500 pieces on this same beach.

thanks for helping at our april beach clean!

Thanks again to our great team of volunteers and we look forward to seeing you again next time.

Meanwhile, if you do any individual cleans, remember to use our free app, LitterStopper, to record your efforts.  There are 4 options to choose from: full audit, partial audit, standard BeachPatrol clean (includes counting glass bottles, plastic bottles, alum cans and coffee cups/lids) or no sorting clean.

This data goes to Victorian State DELWP database, Litterwatch, as well as our own BeachPatrol website.

Email us (3207@beachpatrol.com.au) for more details.

Our beach, bay and marine/bird life thank us all for our continuing efforts!

Next group clean: Sat 7 May 22

An email will be sent the week prior as a reminder.

Keep well and safe!

Happy Beaches!
