That quietness we associate with suburbs will be golden.

Let’s put it out there. Even suburb-listed houses in Sydney don’t exactly come cheap. The median house price in Bonnyrigg, for example, has now surpassed the value of $1.2 million. But this is still like $500,000 cheaper than what you can find in the central parts of the city. Everybody wants to live near Sydney’s central areas. But how many houses will be available for purchase at a good price? With suburbs, you can still find bargains that, with time, will be characterised by an excellent ROI. With central properties? Not so much.

But Why Bonnyrigg?

Honestly, why not? This suburb is only 36km away from central Sydney, and you are just near the Western Sydney Parklands, which is one of the largest urban green spaces in the entire world. Do you want to be close to cycling routes, trekking opportunities and open, green fields? In that case, this is a perfect place to consider. Moreover, you will be close to the Prospect Reservoir, and the Blue Mountains will be just a one-hour drive away.

With suburbs like this, it’s all about calmness and closeness to nature. Yes, you will not be in the middle of the hustle and bustle we associate with Sydney. Do you want to attend a concert? Is your workplace somewhere near Sydney’s CBD? Then, you will need to be prepared for a short commute. But, at least personally, I think the trade-off is worth it and a newly-built house for sale in Bonnyrigg just makes sense.

Yes, you will not have everything at your doorstep anymore. But suburbs are still close to local centre malls or shops. You lose a bit of convenience, but you gain calmness, a sense of community living, and more room for breathing. I used to dream of living near the CBD when I was a teen. But now, when I’m close to my thirties? I can’t even imagine spending my days in that environment. It’s fun for a while, sure. But if you want to raise your family in a comfortable location, you will need to consider suburban living.
