I have been with the Toorak Times since April 2012. I worked as Senior Editor of the Toorak Times for 10 years before retiring in 2012. I continue now as an occasional feature writer. I've been in the Australian music scene as a musician since 1964, and have worked in radio and TV and newspapers (when they were paper ), serious experience in audio editing, and a lot of video editing experience. I retired from paid radio work in 2022 and took up a position in the Education Centre at Puffing Billy
So, while Nero fiddled while Rome burned, Morrison flies out leaving
his whole country burning.

Good one PM – you utter contemptuous bastard.

You pilloried Christine Nixon when she had dinner out during Black Friday – BUT at least she didn’t abandon her whole country.

We at the Toorak Times hope you have an absolutely terrible time, and, if we are lucky, you might just fall into an active volcano.

We pose the question – is this man showing leadership?

We answer – NO!

It really is the kind of pig ignorant totally out of touch behaviour we should have expected from someone who has about as much connection to the ordinary Aussie, especially ALL those currently dealing with life-threatening situations, as an underdeveloped nanobe!

Yes a PM like all Australians deserves a break from work, if they are lucky enough to have a job!

Yet there is something which is vacillating between totally inappropriate and a total lack of concern, when the Prime Minister takes off for Hawaii, while his country is under flame from the north to the south and the east to the west.

This is the Prime Minister that also refuses to meet with fire authority chiefs to discuss a national plan to combat the fires.

These are either extremely bad judgement calls from the man at the top or worse, maybe they are representative of his true concern for this nation as it burns.

When U.S. President Harry S. Truman said – “The buck stops here” – he meant it!

There is no justifiable excuse for the nations leader to abandon his country during a national crisis to have a holiday!

Bad form, bad judgement or bad leadership?

Maybe all three.

We can only hope Australians remember our “brave” PM when the time comes around.
