With the popularity of EDM artists like Skrillex, Calvin Harris, Diplo, and Marshmello, casual fans may be forgiven to think that the genre is a new invention. However, electronic dance music has been around since the disco era of the 70s.
EDM music is a combination of a wide range of subgenres, including techno, trance, dubstep, synthpop, and trap. But they are designed to do one thing–hype up the crowd and encourage them to hit the dance floor. In recent years, however, the industry has grown and grown. Today, the Mecca of EDM festivals remains to be Tomorrowland in Belgium. In 2009, for instance, the event drew 400,000 participants.
If this is your first time to join an EDM, naturally you would be anxious about the festival outfits. Obviously, you want to look good. You don’t want to be left out by your group of friends in terms of fashion. Also, you need to be comfortable because you need to consider the heat of the bodies of packed people. - Midnight skirt — The midnight skirt exudes Latin sultriness. It is typically made of polyester, which promotes freedom of movement. The asymmetrical cut also draws attention to your legs.
- Valley mini-dress — Really, you cannot go wrong with a little black dress. It is sophisticated, elegant, and flexible. It is easy to mix and match. If the EDM festival stretches for days, you can pull off this little number at least a couple of times.
- Two-piece set — A two-piece dress is also another option that provides you with a lot of room for flexibility. You can wear it as an outfit or mix it with another tube top or dress. It is comfortable so you can dance the night away.
In general, you want breathable fabrics like cotton, polyester, rayon, and nylon, among others. Remember, there would be a huge crowd there. While EDM sound is meant to pump you into dancing, realistically, you cannot move much other than jumping up and down during these parties. You can also choose to wear the merchandise of the EDM artist if you are really a fan.
Finally, you should also check the weather on the day of the party so that you can plan your festival outfits. Typically these events will last at least a couple of days.
