As we embark on a new season and the fresher weather it brings, we see With One Voice choirs beginning to rehearse outside and in person. What an achievement! Some, like WOV Geelong and WOV St Kilda have been in that groove for about a month and some, having treaded the waters of Covid restrictions and differing needs, can finally meet once again. We wish WOV Melbourne, WOV Chatswood and WOV Central Victoria a fun time reconnecting in person.
We continue to Live-stream choir rehearsals or conductor-led sessions as some WOV Choirs are doing their best to keep everyone singing, connected and smiling and hope those who have connected are feeling the With One Voice vibes of joy and song. We’ve also seen the launch of our newest seed funding grant awarded choir, With One Voice Adelaide CBD, SA. For anyone out there in the area, feel free to visit them at Scots Church, 237 North Terrace on Wednesdays 6pm-7:30pm. Bring a friend and see how it goes, as with all our choirs it is relaxed, inclusive and a lot of fun singing an hour away with other people in your community 🙂
Our team at CA HQ have also been busy welcoming two new staff to take care of Marketing & Communications and Grants & Administration. Other key projects include the next stage of our Community Choir Conductor Development Course with our partners, Community Music Victoria, and a new CRM system that will make life a lot easier for everyone. We will be excited to bring you more on the progress of that in the coming months.

This year has been a tough year for everyone, there’s no denying that. As our mental health crisis deepens, it’s more and more evident that programs like ours are critical in keeping social isolation at bay where we can and increasing community connection. But we need your help to do this!
The “Giving Circle” is a philanthropic program specifically set up to thank and recognise all individuals that help support disadvantaged choir members through donations of any size. By donating you are giving someone less fortunate the opportunity to be a part of the With One Voice program. You can support as many participants as you like, for as long as you like and there are no limits on donation size.

We lost way more than singing during these sad and repressed times. Singing with diverse others makes you smarter, healthier, happier and more creative. There are multiple other benefits as explained in Tania de Jong’s TED Talk.
Most of all we lost community, a place where we could belong and the chance to deepen relationships and create harmony together. The following article by The Guardian highlights just this, click below for more.
More than ever, we need to connect people in our communities and as we start to pull ourselves out from behind the Covid cloud, programs like ours will be essential.
As well as the financial boost, you will also have access to a mentor who will assist in developing your choir from the ground up, so you can be in the best possible position to open when restrictions ease.

The live stream is open for everyone to take part in, members and non members come along to take their minds off the worries of the world and get their endorphins flowing with a healthy dose of singing.
