Written by The Wolves Theatre Company’s Playwright, Michael Gray Griffith, REAL is a DANGEROUS play.  But is it too dangerous for Australian audiences? Why not come along and watch it and tell us your thoughts?

The esteemed actor John Wood will play along side Ezra Bix one of Melbourne’s most respected theatre actors. Also on stage will be Elizabeth O’Callaghan and Candice Leask.

DATE TIME: Sunday 2nd May 2021: 2:00 PM

LOCATION 2 Denham Street, Hawthorn, Vic 3122

The reason for having it in Hawthorn is convenience for the audience. The space we are using is serviced by the 75 and the 48 trams and is close to Hawthorn train station.

Bringing New Theatre To The People

I had a great chat with Sherryl-Lee Secomb, a theatre marketing specialist.

Here is her link to her website

She told me that I should concentrate on what is in it for the customer which we have started trying to do.  But the thing we talked about most was how to reach people who don’t come to new Australian theatre, which is over 96% of the community . We decided to use the advice of Dick Smith who said if you believe in your company then use your face.   This is the first of a few ads, which do both, we’ll see if they have any reaction.

Does offering free tickets work with theatre?

I’ve noticed that complimentary tickets don’t often get used and free tickets don’t pay the bills, they also communicate the fact that maybe it’s not very good. So in this video below I talk about something new we are trialing: Something far less theatrical.

“A money back Guarantee!”

If you come to Marooned and find it boring, then I will personally give you your money back. Reason being, we would have failed you, for what we are selling to you is an experience. If you don’t get it, why should you pay?
