Carbon neutral energy retailer set to welcome more customers in early 2024

●    Real Utilities reaches major milestone as pace of growth increases

●    New settlements to bring huge boost to customer numbers in 2024

●    Real Utilities continues its commitment to provide 100% Climate Active-certified carbon neutral energy to its customers

Real Utilities, the wholly-owned energy retailing business of Frasers Property Australia, has surpassed the 2,000 carbon neutral energy customer milestone and is now targeting 3,000 customers in 2024.

The major customer milestone comes with the recent completion of the final homes at Frasers Property Australia’s Burwood Brickworks in Melbourne, which saw Real Utilities welcome an additional 220 customers.

All apartment residents in the award-winning community are now Real Utilities customers, with Real Utilities also operating the embedded network that provides carbon neutral energy – as certified under the Australian Government’s Climate Active program – to tenants of Burwood Brickworks Shopping Centre.

Underlining the accelerating growth of Real Utilities nationally, the company has delivered 3.9 gigawatt hours (GWh) of carbon neutral energy to customers so far this year (as at October 2023), compared to 3.7 GWh for all of 2022 and 2.8 GWh in 2021.

“Real Utilities is transitioning to a new and accelerated phase of growth with new residential projects reaching settlement and new residents moving in, complemented by new partnerships at the Frasers Property level, all as our decarbonisation strategy progresses,” Anita Hoskins, General Manager, Real Utilities says.

“As upward pressure on energy prices continues to impact more Australians, our promise to always be cheaper than the advertised rates of the three biggest competing energy retailers in a customer’s local area, and to price match if a customer finds a better rate elsewhere for a similar plan, will be more important to our growing customer base,” she says.

Frasers Property Australia recently announced it has joined the Global Cooksafe Coalition and part of this is a commitment to create all-electric properties for its customers, across all sectors, in the future.

This commitment will further support the growth of Real Utilities in 2024 and beyond as the company aims to achieve the 3,000-customer milestone.

This is expected to be achieved based on the upcoming settlement of homes in the MAC Residences and Soul buildings at Midtown MacPark (NSW), the Ancora and Nautilus buildings at Shell Cove (NSW), and the Brunswick & Co build-to-rent development in Brisbane.

Real Utilities is also contracted to deliver carbon neutral energy to Mambourin Marketplace in Melbourne’s west, for which Frasers Property Australia recently received permit approval.

Established in 2017, Real Utilities installs and operates its own energy infrastructure such as solar panels, batteries and biodiesel generators and supplies carbon neutral energy to residential, retail, commercial and industrial customers and properties. The company, and the energy it provides, are both certified carbon neutral by the Australian Government’s Climate Active program.
