WAM SONG OF THE YEAR ANNOUNCES STUDIO PARTNERS & MORE
 

Championing WA music with WAM Song Of The Year, the competition is now open for submissions til 25 January 2016, with $40,000 worth of prizes on offer to WA songwriters of all ages, levels and genres!
There are 16 categories, each category offering winners a cash prize,studio time with WA’s best (including the just announced Artisan, Desbaser Studios, Electric City Sound, Poons Head, Sonic Lolly, Soundbaker, Sovereign Studios, Fremantle Records, Tone City and Underground Studio) and more, including a massive Grand Prize package as listed here.

Providing huge opportunities for songwriters at all levels of experience – from talented beginners to proven stars – Song Of The Year also offers WA-based songwriters exposure to leading music industry judges and vital recognition by Australian radio and media. The comp features 16 categories, covering all genres in Blues / Roots, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Folk, Jazz, Metal / Heavy, Punk / Hardcore, Pop, Rock, Urban / Hip Hop and World, plus extra categories for Schools (14 Years & Under), Schools (15-17), Outstanding Indigenous and Outstanding Regional.

► Indie punk rockers Hideous Sun Demon launch their single cul-de-dasc visionfeaturing support from Peter Bibby, Lalić, Shit Narnia and The Darling Rangers on Saturday 19 December at Mojo’s Bar.

► Perth punk group Helta Skelta launch their new LP, supported by Kitchen’s Floor, The Darling Rangers, Cold Meat and Human Nothing at Babushka on Saturday 19 December.

► 90’s indie legends Turnstyle will launch their new album at the Rosemount’s A Not So Silent Night on Saturday 19 December, alongside performances by The Love Junkies, Ben Ely, Pat Chow, Puck, Rag n’ Bone, The Long Lost Brothers, Burgers of Beef, Segue Safari, The Drools, Gold Suns and Benny Mayhem.
